Tell Boker about health or mobility needs and obtain insurance covering the stated altitude. Arusha pickup adds travel and needs a revised plan. Mandara is roughly 2,700 m above sea level; reaching it is not guaranteed. Mud, pace and weather may require an earlier return. Do not expect snow or a summit view.

Day 1
Kilimanjaro Marangu Rainforest Day Hike
About 07:00 pickup, drive to Marangu Gate, register and complete the guide briefing. Hike uphill at a steady pace towards Mandara, with packed lunch; the guide sets a firm turnaround time. Descend the same route and return to Moshi around 17:00-19:00. Mandara is roughly 2,700 m above sea level; reaching it is not guaranteed. Mud, pace and weather may require an earlier return. Do not expect snow or a summit view.
